"There's no party, like an S Club party!"

Hello everyone!

DAY 1

Last Monday was an early start for us, as we were heading up to Carlingford Adventure Center in Co. Louth! I had to be up at 5 on Monday, to be at Esso for 7, as that was when the bus was leaving. I think it is safe to say that everyone was exhausted!

We arrived at the center at about 9:30 and we were quickly assigned rooms and given a brief ‘verbal tour’ of the center and our meeting places. Luckily, I was in a room with my friends. 

When everyone had put their bags into their rooms, we were brought down to the beach where we were given wet-suits, life-jackets and helmets! We were divided into Group A and Group B. I was in Group B, so we started off our trip with kayaking. We kayaked until about 12 and then we got changed back into our clothes and had lunch. 

After lunch, we played laser tag. We were handed laser guns and a camunzie (camouflage onesie) and we headed up the very, very steep hill to the laser forest! Laser tag, in my opinion, was the best part of the trip. Our leader, Martin, was so funny! Before each game, he would gather all of us in a circle and give us an ‘inspirational quote’. The first few were serious, such as ‘You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take’, but then they ended on a light note with ‘There’s no party, like an S Club party’!

 After laser tag we had dinner and then we had 2 hours of free time, during which we went to the sweet shop and relaxed in our room. Then at about 7, we went to our night-time activity, which was called night-line. Basically, we had to walk back up the hill and wander through a forest blindfolded! It was so much fun!

After night-line, some of the girls ordered a Chinese and we went back to our room and had a huge feast of chocolate, sweets and cake (for our friend Lauren’s Birthday)!!!

DAY 2

At 7:30 on Tuesday morning, we got a wake-up call from reception. They played music to get us in the mood for another day of activities.

Firstly, we had breakfast. Then we went down to the beach again and went canoeing. I much preferred canoeing to kayaking. When we were out on the canoes, we were allowed to go on the water trampoline. We jumped into the water from the trampoline and it was so cold but it was so much fun!

After canoeing, we went back to the showers and got changed and then we had lunch.

After lunch, we walked up the hill, again, and went to the activity center where we were given loads of tasks to complete in order to win points. My team won overall! After this activity, we returned to the center to collect our stuff and then we came home.

Carlingford was an amazing trip! I had a great time with my friends and I would love the opportunity to go again someday!
