Something That I'm Interested In

Part of the November blog challenge is to write a blog post on something that I am interested in.
I have decided to combine my 2 favourite things into this blog post; the first thing being baking and the second thing being Christmas (seeing as Christmas is next month, I thought it would be exciting to discuss it early!).

I.Love.Christmas. That's basically it! Last week somebody asked me 'what's your favourite part about Christmas?'. I couldn't answer the question because I simply love every single part just as much as the next! The only thing I don't like about it, is when it's over!

I love putting up my decorations, my lights and the Christmas tree, I love the food, the weather, going for long walks and coming home to a blazing fire!

I love to bake at Christmas! Last year I made so many things, such as Christmas pudding, rock-roads, mince-pies and so much more!

If you would like to read another blog post I wrote, where I showed you a recipe for apple crumble, click here.

If you are interested, my favourite baking blog is 'My Baking Addiction'. I'll leave the link here if you would like to have a read!

Now for the best part of the blog... PICTURES!!! I enjoyed doing this part of the blog because it gave me an excuse to look up pictures of Christmas trees and food on Google images!

Time goes by...

It's the first day back after October midterm and I can honestly say time has never gone by so fast!
I feel like it was only yesterday when we all dressed up for Halloween on the Friday before we finished.

I was extremely busy over the midterm break with work! I got a job in Avoca's Birdcage Cafe and I worked for 4 days over midterm, so I was pretty busy!

I also went shopping over midterm and on Halloween night I went to a bonfire at my friend's house!

Overall I had a very exciting midterm! There's only 7 weeks in this term until the Christmas holidays and I absolutely cannot wait for then!

Work Experience

For my first work placement, I decided to go to Avoca's "Birdcage Cafe". I will be working there for a total of ten weeks!

I start work at 10:30 every Wednesday. Usually, my first job in the morning is to keep the jam topped up and to go down to the bakery to get fresh scones whenever the cafe is running low.

I get a half an hour break at 11:30 or 12, where I am provided with free food and drinks! The food      in the cafe is so gorgeous, I couldn't believe my luck when I was told that I could have free break        and free lunch every week!

After break, I mainly work on the savory food counter. Here, I serve customers, place hot food            orders to the kitchen, heat food in the microwaves, top up salads and serve soup etc.
I really enjoy this part of the day because I can interact with other people and work with the food.

At 2:30, I get to have my lunch. Once again, I am provided with free food and drinks! When I             finish my lunch, I go for a wander downstairs with any extra time I have.

After lunch, I might be on the savory food again, or I could be on the cake stand. If I'm not on             either of these, I work on the floor, cleaning tables etc., or else I'm helping out with unloading             boxes of milk, napkins etc.

My day ends at 5 and I hate leaving because it is so much fun, but after a day of standing and               walking around non-stop, I'm happy enough to take off my gloves and say goodbye to everyone!
